The real estate business is a new industry in Zanzibar and despite excellent opportunities the doing business on the island is very challenging. The investment environment requires considerable improvement in many fields.

In order to encourage the investors and the buyers itself to purchase what developers are offering, solid and transparent legal foundation must be established, wide education process through dialogue among Government authorities and all stakeholders must be maintained and permanent industry lobbying executed to jointly secure the interest of our members.

Frequently asked questions

The annual membership fee is 1200 USD payable within 14 days after approval of the membership application.

A company wishing to become a member of the association submits a free-form application signed by the head of the company, addressing it to the Board of REDA. The application can also be submitted in electronic form by sending it by e-mail to: office@reda-zanzibar.com

The decision on membership is made by the Board of the Association at the meeting following the submission of the application, to which the applicants are also invited to present themselves.

REDA is aiming to be actively engaged into six main working streams holding their members updated:

  • Sustainable Land Planning and Construction Legislation
  • Private-Public Partnerships
  • Tax systems and incentives for real estate investments
  • Public Infrastructure Development  and Management
  • Construction  & Real Estate Innovation Group
  • Legal framework monitoring and improvement

We are undertaking initiatives leading our members to exchange industry experiences, latest information, know-how transfer, new business opportunities and socializing. Our plans include Tech+ breakfast meetings where real estate developers and real estate technology communities meet to promote and enhance the understanding of technological innovation in the real estate market.  We inform and participate in numerous conferences and study tours for market professionals. We have established CLUB+ , an informal communication club for members of the association where meetings, discussions on relevant topics are organized every month where despite excellent atmosphere you can get a good legal advice or meet your potential reliable building contractor.
